PROPERTY IN SUSSEX
Our extensive experience working across Sussex gives us a lot of insight into the local market trends. Despite prices levelling out in the capital, house values in towns and cities within commutable distances are continuing to rise, with average values increasing by 6% in East Sussex and 5% in West Sussex.
It’s easy to see why, with the rolling South Downs and beautiful villages offering rural life, and convenience just along the A23 and A27 in Crawley, London, Chichester and Eastbourne.
East Sussex continues to benefit from young professionals moving out of the capital, and apartments have been selling especially well. Overall, property in the county has sold for an average price of just under £340,000, though homes in the commuter haven of Brighton tend to sell for £50,000 – £100,000 more than their equivalents elsewhere.
The market in West Sussex tells a different story, as families have been moving into more detached homes than any other kind of property. The average sale price of £360,000 is slightly higher than that of East Sussex, although the types of home that appeal to buyers are partly the cause.
